Buying Home Whitening Kits like Whitestrips

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By Yale Wang Tired of stained, yellow teeth? Want to give yourself a beautiful, whiter smile? Then perhaps you have thought about at home teeth whitening kits. In January 2004, Consumer Reports wrote “Home kits do whiten teeth for far less than you’d pay for a professional treatment.” Along with the above quote, Consumer Reports rated Colgate Whitestrips as “good” while Crest Simply White Night was given a rating of “very good.” Both were said to help in whitening the tester’s teeth and both were recommended products. But which of the two is most right for you? When deciding to buy an at home teeth whitening kit, keep in mind of what is most convenient for you. The main difference is that Crest Whitestrips are nearly invisible sticky strips that are worn twice a day, for 30 minutes at a time, (or you can do a single one hour session) while Colgate Simply White Night is a gel that is brushed onto your teeth before you sleep. Neither are flavored and after a few days, most people get accustomed to either method. However, the main reason consumers do not get the full benefits of their whitening kits is because they prematurely stop usage before the recommended time (usually 14 days). One last note is that both Crest and Colgate recommend continued usage or their products to improve your teeth whiteness level. Therefore, if you are satisfied with your initial results, consider purchasing another teeth whitening kit to whiten your teeth even more. However, neither Crest Whitestrips nor Colgate Simply White Night can give you a bombshell white smile if you have had years of coffee, caffeine, or smoking. For those results, you will most likely have to have multiple visits to your dentist as well as spend hundreds of dollars. If however, you are looking for a cheap alternative to whiten your teeth several shades, then why not give at home teeth whitening products a try? After all, almost all of them offer a money back guarantee. Financial Jargon Uncovered

By John Gibb Cash flow is the business’s ability to pay for things and is often referred to as the lifeblood of a company, because if it used well it can generate more cash. Cash flow can be measured on the balance sheet of a company by looking at the relationship between current assets and current liabilities. As a rule a business with considerably more current assets than current liabilities will have better cash flow. So what does a balance sheet show? Typically it would contain things a business actually owns such as equipment, cash and buildings these are known as fixed assets. If the Business is owed anything, this on a balance sheet is interpreted as current assets. These usually comprise of money owed by customers, stock, pre-payments and/or investments. Another line item you would expect to see on a balance sheet are a businesss current liabilities this is what the business owes. Liabilities can be short term (due within one year) or long term. Short term liabilities can include outstanding payments to suppliers and accrued salaries. Long term liabilities can be debt with a maturity greater than 12 months. The balance sheet must by law include the elements shown above underlined. However, what each includes will vary from business to business. Earnings are usually the best indicator of a companys profitability. Below are some of the terms used with a brief explanation of what each actually means? Revenue: this reflects the companys sales of products or services; leasing or renting, property or equipment. Cost: this indicates expenditure required to generate the revenue. Gross Profit: This is the Companys revenue minus its costs equals its gross profit (or it could be its loss) To give an example, if a company makes 12k in revenue but to generate tat revenue it has cost them 8k then their Gross Profit would be 4k. Expense: These are charges not directly relating to producing a good or a service. These can be things such as salaries, rent, advertising etc. Net Profit: Profit made after taxes have been paid. Bill Payment & Cellular Services - The Wave Of The Future For Merchant Retailers!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Darryl_Hays]Darryl Hays Electronic Distribution How Electronic Distribution Works The Problems of Distributing Prepaid Services with Hard (Scratch) Cards Introduction One of the most significant developments in the prepaid telecom industry in the last few years has been the emergence of electronic distribution technologies, such as Prepaid Wireless Direct point-of-sale activaton (POSA) will completely reconstruct the way in which prepaid services are sold. How Electronic Distribution Works Prepaid Wireless Direct electronic distribution systems enable any prepaid sevice to electronically transmit their services to virtually any retail location. Prepaid Wireless Direct provides an integrated POSA solution comprised of flexible and compact point-of-sale terminal equipment, proprietary software, transactional communications, protocols, and professional services to assist retailers with implementation. Once in the retail environment, consumers simply select a product from point-of sale signage or displays and make the approprate payment to the clerk who then inserts a wallet-sized thermal card into the POSA terminal. After pushing a few key corresponding to the desired product, terminal prints a prepaid PIN along with usage instruction on the card. Prepaid Wireless Direct also supports PIN-less delivery whereby the terminal makes a real-time connection service provider. A credit is instantly issued to the customer’s account. Within moments of purchase, customers can use services. The types of retail environments that are beginning to switch to electronic delivery include wireless shops, supermarkets, conveience stores, check cashers, food marts, university shops, electronics stores, hotels and many more. The Problems of Distributing Prepaid Services with Hard (Scratch) Cards Prepaid Wireless Direct has developed electronic distribution services to address the many problems of distributing prepaid mobile and other prepaid services through hard cards. Hard cards are also known as scratch cards because the customer scratches a panel on the back of the card to reveal a PIN or other secret code. The current and traditional distribution methodology of most prepaid services involves the prepaid services involves the provider printing scratch cards, warehousing them and fulfilling orders to distributors. The distributors purchase large quantities for providers, warehouse them and fulfill retail orders. And retailers purchase the cards from distributors, manage the inventory and sell the cards to consumers. Each participant in the distribution chain encounters problems with scratch cards. Retailer Problems. Under today’s traditional hard card distribution format, most retailers struggle on several fronts to offer prepaid products Retailer have a difficult time carrying the inventory costs of prepaid services. The recent growth and popularity of prepaid wireless intensifies the problem. With prepiad mobile, airtime denominations are much more expensive the phone cards that most retailers are familiar with. It’s common for one prepaid wireless provider to offer 5 or more different airtime denominations that range in price form $20 to $150 each. To make things worse, prepaid wireless airtime is carrier specific, meaning that Verizon prepaid wireless customers cannot top up (recharge or replenish) their accounts with AT&T, Cingular or any other providers’s airtime, and vice versa. This makes it critical for retailers to carry airtime for all of the popular national and regional prepaid wireless carriers or operators in their area, something that retailers didn’t have to worry about with phone cards. Today there is an average of six major carriers or operators offering prepaid wireless in each of the top 20 U.S. markets. Trying to inventory product for all six could mean that prepaid wireless alone could account for as much as 25 percent of a conveience stores total in-store inventory costs. Many retailers simple cannot afford the cash outlay required to successfully sell prepaid wireless services. Retailer trying to minimize inventory costs often create out-of-stock problems. In general, stock outages cost the average retailer 6% of its sales, resulting in loss of billions of dollars every year and high customer dissatisfaction. To make thing worse, today’s airtime hard cards, also know as vouchers, scratch cards, replenishment cards, recharge cards, and hanging cards, increase the likelihood of fraud. The biggest problem seems to be at the point of sale where easily concealed, high-value airtime cards can be the target of both retail customers and employees alike. To prevent comsumer theft, retailers often put cards under lock and key but still suffer losses due to employee pilferage. In the conveience store industry, it is believed that as much as 80 percent of the store’s shrinkage is attributable to employees. Retail employess often feel underpaid and rationalize theft as a way to make up for what they’re owed. As prepaid wireless airtime cards often range in denominations from $10 to $150, employees can easily conceal thousands of dollars of product in their pockets or purses. Cards are also attractive because they can be easily converted to cash on the street by offering them for sale at a discount of their face value. Because they’re close cash equivalents, prepaid wireless cards have become tantamount to an underground currency in some places including Europe. Because of the proliferation of theft reduction is the number one investment priority among convenience store executives. Additionally, each of the supply chain participants lacks efficient inventory controls and reporting while battling fraud. Because of the difficulties they face, and retailers that sell traditional hard cards are in dire need of cost-effective distribution solutions. Electronic Distribution Solutions Prepaid Wireless Direct products and services solve the distrbution problems of retailers that sell prepaid wireless (mobile) and other prepaid services. Retailer. Retailers are increasingly demanding electronic delivery for the significant benefits they derive. By delivering prepaid products electronically, on demand, with point-of-sale activation(POSA) techniques, Prepaid Wireless Direct essentially allows any retailer to sell prepaid wireless or other prepaid service without carrying any inventory. This eliminates prepaid inventory costs that acted as enormous cash barriers, prohibiting many retailers from selling prepaid wireless or other prepaid services. What once tied up thousands of dollars in inventory, now requires no up front cash from retailers. Now virtually any retailer not only can afford to participate in selling prepaid services, but also can expand their product portfolios to include phone cards, wireless, dail tone, credit cards, internet and more. In addition, they can also afford to represent all of the popular prepaid wireless service providers in their areas. Also, because products are automatically replenished at POSA terminals electronically in PIN or real-time formats, retailer never run out of inventory. With Prepaid Wireless Direct POSA solution, retailers avoid the heavy costs of out of stocks and resultant customer dissatisfaction. Once installed in a retail location, the POSA terminal virtually eliminates theft by retail customers and employess. Because only inactive products are on display, retail customers can no longer steal valuable airtime. And because all retail employees are assigned unique passwords required to accesss the POSA terminal, the system creates an audit trail that details all sales activity by date, time, shift and employee. This audit trail provides a monitoring system that virtually eliminates employee theft. With the POSA system, retailer no longer need to count and reconcile scratch card inventory amounts at the beginning of every shift. POSA also reduces shelf space requirements and simplifies a retailers job by consolidating all prepaid products into one convenient POSA platform. POSA delivers operating flexibility to the retail marketplace that traditional point of sale products fail to provide. Retailers also have 24/7 online access to reports that show real-time sales activity by each of their locations. Retailers can also print real-time sales report directly for their POSA terminals. Reports can drill down to sales activity at individual retail outlets by product, clerk, day, and time. Reports come standard but may be customized to match the retailers unique information needs. Retailers use sales activity reports can also highlight sudden changes in sales at a particular location. Subsequent investigation often reveals a simple solution to boosting sales such as replacement of signage that has been taken down by a window washer. Timely awareness of problems and simple remedies often make a significant difference to the amount of sales at retail. Prepaid Wireless Direct is proud to be leading the way in the electronic distribution of prepaid services through retail environment. By delivering unique, industry-first features and benefits, while supporting a growing list of platforms, methods, suppliers, and products. Prepaid Wireless Direct is poised to lead the electronic distribution movement into the future. In addition to its current suite of products. Prepaid Wireless Direct intends to introduce many more electronic product delivery solutions as it continues to leverage the leading technologies to create cutting-edge, customized products for emerging customer segments. Fat Does Not Make You Fat

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Dr. Jamie Fettig Fat does Not Make You Fat. One of the other huge myths is that fat makes you fat. It doesnt. When you eat fat, your body has to break it down into its little building blocks and then absorb the pieces. The fat you have in your body is not the same as the fat you eat. In fact, the fat naturally found in whole foods is fat you actually need for your body to function properly. Essential Fatty Acids are the name given to the types of fat that you need to eat. This is why they are called essential. Your body cannot make them, you must eat them. And these essential fatty acids are only found with fat that naturally occurs in whole food. What are these essential fatty acids used for in your body? Well, literally everything. Every cell in your body is partly made up of these essential fatty acids. To breathe, to have your heart beat, to run, walk, think, to make hormones, to remember anything, you need essential fatty acids for all of these and basically, to live. And if you dont eat them in the food you eat, your body will not function properly. And the only place you can find essential fatty acids is in food that has naturally occurring fat in them. So if you try and cut fat out of your body, you will actually be causing harm and not really be doing anything to get rid of the fat already in your body. So what is one of the main causes of being fat. Sugar and refined carbohydrates. NO, not again with the sugar, you might be saying. Yes, Sugar and refined carbohydrates are really one of the main causes in many problems we as humans face today. You can pretend it is not true, you can believe it is not true, but no matter how you try and avoid it, sugar and refined carbohydrates will still negatively impact you whether you want them to or not. And whether or not you believe they will or not. How does sugar and refined carbohydrates make you fat? It is really simple. You have a relatively set amount of fat cells in your body. It is just a matter of how big your fat cells are. So what affects the size of your fat cells? Sugar. Because glucose is what is stored in your fat cells. And there is a little gate that controls the movement of sugar in and out of your fat cells. And the key to this little gate is insulin. Insulin is the key that opens the gates to the fat cells and allows excess glucose in the blood to go into the fat cells. So if you never eat anything that raises your blood sugar levels beyond normal, your body will not release insulin, and you will not get bigger fat cells. The body releases insulin to lower blood sugar levels that are too high. So Sugar and refined carbohydrates are actually what is one of the biggest contributing factors to why people are overweight. The ironic part of all of this, is that when you get food that has artificially been made to be low fat, you know what they usually put in when they take out the fat? Sugar. They usually add the very thing that contributes to people being fat when they are trying to make something that many people think is helping them not be fat. Fat does not make you fat. In fact, you need the essential fatty acids found in fat to live. Sugar is one of the biggest contributing factors to what makes you fat. The real truth about sugar and refined carbohydrates. Burn Fat And Lose Weight - 2 Stellar Fat Burning Tips

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

By Tom Gifford For most people, trying to burn fat and lose weight is not an easy thing to do. They try to burn fat and lose weight with fad diets, infomerical exercise gimmicks, fat burning pills, and a whole array of other “popular” tools that are constantly being advertised. Unfortunately, this only things that these things will make lighter is your wallet! There are tried and true ways to burn fat and lose weight that are often overlooked because of all the media hype that has so many people on information overload. This article will take a look at two ways that you can exercise that will help you to burn fat and lose weight. When you combine these tips with a great diet, your efforts to burn fat will be on the fast track to success. 2 Tips to Lose Weight and Burn Fat BURN FAT AND LOSE WEIGHT TIP #1: Strength training can be your best friend. So many people avoid strength training when trying to burn fat with exercise because they think it will make them get big bodybuilder muscles. I can assure you that this will not happen! If you are on a fat loss exercise diet and exercise program, your body simply will not be able to add large amounts of muscle that will equate to getting the big muscles you see on the magazines. The reason strength training can be a great tool to lose weight is because it can add lean muscle mass which will contribute to helping increase your metabolism while being active and at rest! Another thing that is important you understand about using strength training to lose weight is that fat cannot be converted to muscle. Fat tissue and muscle tissue are two very different things. Muscle mass uses stored fat for energy when your body is in the right state. Having an increased metabolism through strength training is a great way to burn fat because it will increase the amount of fat that your muscles will burn for energy! BURN FAT AND LOSE WEIGHT TIP #2: Interval training is a great alternative to same speed cardio. Interval training is a great way to burn fat because like strength training, it will increase your metabolism. Interval training is different than same speed cardio because it uses both high and low intensities for a set amount of time. For example, you might get on an exercise bike and go slow for 2 minutes, then fast for 1 minute. You would repeat this interval 3-6 times, and you have a great workout what will help to burn fat and lose weight! Another great thing about interval training to lose weight is that the time goes by so much faster. Instead of thinking “ok, 38 more minutes to go” you thinking “ok, 1 more minute until I change speed”. CONCLUSION If you combine strength training and interval training the right way, you will have an excellent workout structure that will help you burn fat and lose weight much faster than before! Remember to see a doctor before you start any exercise program to burn fat and lose weight. Your safety should be the number one priority! Work hard, train hard, and always keep learning. Good luck =) Want to Reprint this Article on how to Burn Fat and Lose Weight? Why Spend $40.00/$50.00 or More, on Perfumes that Don’t Even Last and Have Harsh Alcohol?

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

By Alexa Van Eden First of all, you may ask, “What exactly are Perfume Oils?” Perfume Oils are the pure oils that perfumes are made from. Island of Eden’s Perfume Oils are alcohol and chemical-free. Perfumes and colognes that one may purchase for $50.00 or more in department stores contain an average of only 33% pure perfume oil, and the rest (67%) is alcohol, water, butane, etc. Alcohol “kills the soul of the plant or flower essence.” Butane is used as a sort-of lighter-than-air fragrance carrier. It causes the perfume to have a powerful scent when first sprayed, but fades away quickly. The reason you can buy perfume oils for such a low cost, is connected to low overhead, and the perfume oil industry’s general practice of selling the product at a fair price. When you pay for the high-end designer brands, you are paying for a fancy bottle and a designer name. Our perfume oils are the highest quality you can purchase! Don’t be fooled by other perfume oils, there are different grades of oils! Island of Eden’s oils are very concentrated, and are the best perfume oils you can buy! Even other perfume oil companies may dilute their oils down. Try ours and you’ll experience the difference! Why do designers use alcohol in their perfumes anyway if it’s so bad? All commercially available “perfumes” are actually perfume oils with fillers. First, and foremost, it causes the perfume oils to evaporate faster than they would by themselves - up to 10 or 15 times more quickly! This gives the impression that the perfume is 10 or 15 times stronger than it actually is. That is why, when you first put on a fragrance, the aroma may sometimes seem overwhelming to those around you. It is also why the scent is almost all gone within one or two hours. The perfume oils have evaporated along with the alcohol! The second reason for all those fillers is just ‘good’ marketing — a bigger bottle containing fragrance plus fillers seems like a much better value than a smaller one of pure oil. This illusion is further reinforced by the strong, short-lasting, alcohol driven aroma. So what’s wrong with alcohol anyway? **Alcohol tends to kill off some of the most beautiful notes in many fragrances, which in pure form, are truly delicious. **Alcohol isn’t really good for you. Perfume fillers generally use ethyl alcohol, sometimes called ethanol. Your body considers ethanol to be a poison and many people who think they are allergic to perfume are actually allergic to the alcohol in the perfume **Alcohol is a drying agent — used by industries all over the world as an additive to make thing evaporate very quickly. Unfortunately for you, as the alcohol evaporates, it also takes away the fragrance and your own natural body oils along with it, drying your skin as it goes! Your fragrance will last, and last, and last…with Perfume Oils! Since Island of Eden’s Perfume Oils are undiluted, you can expect your fragrance to last literally hours and hours! Not only will they last on you, they will last years in their bottles! Many people are not aware that perfumes with fillers spoil! (Ever noticed how your department store brands went “bad” after a year or so?) Industry experts say 6 to 18 months is the usual shelf-life of a perfume, depending on the components and their quality. But, perfume oils will retain their fragrance year after year! Why are your perfume oils called “Types?” The formulas for designer perfumes are very well-kept secrets indeed, but trained and experienced fragrance professionals can pick apart the elements of most fragrances. Augmenting these skills with modern chemical techniques, such as the use of gas-liquid chromatography, helps make it possible to match a given fragrance with the same or better oils. Because of the mystery surrounding the fragrance industry, you might think that fragrances are the private property of the designers, but the courts have held that fragrance is something that belongs to nature and not to any individual. Therefore a fragrance cannot be patented or copyrighted, and a manufacturer cannot prevent someone else from matching or improving upon any aroma in whole or in part. Of course, the brand name of a designer fragrance can be copyrighted or registered and others may not use that name to their profit. That is why we are so careful to point out that we are not offering the originals - we call ours “Types” to make the difference clear. How do I use Perfume Oils? To apply perfume oil, just dab a bit on the backside of your hand (it mixes better there with your body chemistry) and then rub it on your neck, arms, and anywhere skin meets skin, etc. Perfume Oils never change, do not evaporate, and are inexpensive and versatile. Basically, perfume oils are what you purchase for yourself or for a gift when only the real thing will do. Why pay high-end prices, for fancy bottles, and a name? If quality is what you’re really after, you’ll love these, and never go back to alcohol ridden perfumes and colognes. After all, aren’t you worth it? We think so! Below are some great uses for Perfume Oils (Other than wearing them) that customers have sent us. 1. Add a few drops to your bath water for a beautifully fragrant aroma. 2. Some Duties For The Groom

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

By Eric Hartwell The groom (bridegroom) is the man about to be married or who has just been married. His partner is the bride the bride is the center of all glory during the wedding ceremony, but without the groom, there wouldnt be a ceremony in the first place. The groom must first establish who will pay for the wedding. Traditionally, the wedding is hosted and paid for by the parents of the bride. Today, more couples opt to pay for their own wedding, allowing them to freely choose the kind of ceremony they want without putting the parents at a financial strain. Still, there are brides fathers who have prepared for their daughters marriage, and are all too happy to exercise this privilege. If the couple chooses to be responsible, the groom must plan the budget with the bride. Once the organizers and the budget had been taken care of, the groom will be able to choose the marriage and reception venues for the style and type of the wedding the couple desires whether it be a civil or church wedding, or large or small, or intimate, and so on) and to choose the wedding date. Choosing a wedding date is not a walk in the park the groom must take into consideration the preferred venue, after all. The more popular the venue, the earlier and faster it gets booked. When working on a budget, it is important to note that it is less expensive to get married on a weekday or out of season wedding service providers are all too pleased to have income during these times. Venues that have vacant dates in the very near future also charge less simply to fill the slot. The groom must also be 100% aware of the guest list. Since weddings are family occasions, it naturally follows that the couples immediate families and relatives are included. Close friends and work colleagues can also be invited. Keep in mind that the perfect wedding guest list must show a balanced picture of the lives of the bride, the groom, and their families. Legal requirements are ensured by the groom traditionally, along with paying the church or registrars fee. Legal preliminaries differ depending on how the couple chooses to marry and where. The groom also organizes the wedding insurance. Choosing the best man and groomsmen naturally falls to the groom. The best man can be the closest male relative of the groom if theres none, the grooms best friend would also be perfect. Some opt for the latter as an initial preference anyway. The groom will need the best mans help not only on the day itself but also during preparations. Of course, the groom must make sure that the bride finds his best man acceptable. The groomsmen are usually the close friends of the groom. Organizing the wedding rehearsal falls to the groom this needs careful consideration and planning because any last minute hitches can be identified and sorted out.
